Minnehaha parents and families,

I cannot believe how fast the school year has gone. It seems like just yesterday I was sitting down to type my introductory newsletter. Here we are, 183 days into the school year, with just 7 days to go.

At this time, we do know of a few staffing changes that I’d like to share with you all. Brittany Wade, our FCRC coordinator, is leaving us after two wonderful years. While we will miss her, we are excited to welcome our new FCRC coordinator, Aiko Chapelle. Aiko is spending the rest of the year with us, getting to know staff, students, and families, and working closely with Brittany to help with a smooth transition. If you see her around, be sure and say hi and welcome her to the Minnehaha family.

We also know of a few teachers who will be leaving Minnehaha. Sandy Akerill, our SLC teacher, will be moving on to Gaiser Middle School. Gail Moore, 5th grade teacher, will be moving on to Chinook Elemen-tary. And Jerry Walsh, 3/4 teacher, will be moving on to Eisenhower Elementary. We will surely miss these wonderful teachers, but want to wish them the best as they begin their new journeys with their new schools.

As the year continues to wind down, don’t miss the Minnehaha Student Talent Show this Thursday, June 11 at 6pm. Many of our students have been working hard as they prepare to showcase their many different talents and skills. We hope to see you there.

I know it seems like a long way away, but please calendar a few dates:

Monday, August 31: Back to School social (class placements will be shared at this time)
Wednesday, September 2: 1st day of school

Don’t forget that the last two days of school this year – Monday, June 15 and Tuesday, June 16 are both 2-hour early release days. School will be dismissed at 1:30pm on both of these days. If you have any ques-tions about any end of year activities, please don’t hesitate to ask your child’s teacher.

Thank you for a great year, and already looking forward to next year.
