Minnehaha Parents & Families,

It’s been a wonderful first few weeks here at Minnehaha as the 2017-18 school year has begun with wonderful energy and excitement – albeit some unusual smokiness & late buses!

Hopefully you have Curriculum Night calendared for next Thursday, Sept 21.  This is an opportunity for you to come and hear from your child’s teacher about his/her grading policy, homework expectations, classroom management beliefs and philosophies, curriculum scope & sequence plans, etc.  As we have done in the past, there will be two “sessions” that evening, which will allow you to visit multiple grade levels.  For the third year in a row, The Gathering Place Church (formerly Northside Baptist Church) will be providing a free dinner in the cafeteria, starting at 5:15pm.  Partnerships between home & school are essential, and we hope to see you all here on the 21st.  Please see the Curriculum Night flyer for a more detailed schedule of this event.

Starting next week, the District’s annual computer-based diagnostic assessments in reading and math will begin – the iReady assessments.  All students in grades 1-5 take the iReady assessments each Fall, Winter, and Spring.  Your child’s teacher will share the results with you.  If you’d like to know more specific information about testing dates/locations for your child, please connect directly with your child’s teacher.

Happy early Fall!  Thank you for your support and involvement,

Troy
