Minnehaha Parents & Families,

‘Tis the Season!  As this holiday season begins, I want to take a moment and thank you all again for your continued partnerships and support.  At Minnehaha, we truly believe it takes a village!

Over these next few weeks, be watching for classroom updates and events communicated by your child’s teacher – there can be so many things happening this time of year, you’ll want to be sure and stay in the loop!

Recess/Playground update:

At Minnehaha, we truly believe in the concept of it takes a village…  Having said that, we also continually strive each and every day to ensure that we fully ensure a safe & supportive environment for our students every moment of the school day.  While there will remain ample opportunity for parents & families to coordinate with classroom teachers to come and volunteer in the classroom, our cafeteria will remain fully open for parents & families who wish to join their students for lunch.  Starting in January our playground at recesses will no longer be an area for parents & families to come and hang out with their child.

Parents & families will continue to be able to come and join for lunch in the cafeteria, but will not continue on outside with our students.  As a building staff, after much discussion, we have arrived at this decision with the absolute best interest of students at heart and in mind.  We hope and trust that you will understand, and will be happy to connect further as we initiate this shift in practice starting in January.

Barnes & Noble night – mark your calendars for Thursday, December 13 from 5:30-7pm at Barnes & Noble for our annual holiday event – it’s always a blast!  More information to come,
