What a wonderful start to the 2018-19 school year. After a few days of last-minute waiting, it has been truly great to have our students, families, and staff back in the building!
As we head into our second full week, remember to make sure you have your teacher’s email and contact information handy. Our teachers care tremendously for the success and well-being of each of their students, and they appreciate hearing from you directly when any questions, concerns, or wonderings come up. For most teachers, email is typically the best, and our office staff doesn’t forward phone calls to classes during the day.
A few early-in-the-year reminders:
– you are definitely welcome to walk your child to his/her class at 9am, but once the 9:10 bell rings it’s time to head out. Parents of students arriving after 9:10 will not be allowed to walk students to class; an escort will be provided if needed. Thank you for your understanding.
– remember during drop off and pick up, that the right lane is for drop off only; please stay in your vehicle and be pulling forward throughout the lane.
– go-home plans sometimes change throughout the day; please be sure to get updated go-home plans to our office staff as soon as possible. End of day plan changes do not always get to teachers in a timely manner. We do our best but please plan ahead as much as possible.
– our afternoon buses continue to arrive at school late; this should improve with time. Thank you for your patience with this!
